Features: Professional Browser Only

The Beyond 20/20 Professional Browser includes the same functions as the Publication Browser, plus advanced data aggregation capabilities and features for tabulating and manipulating microdata, as well as additional data import and export options. These features are of most use to economists, statisticians, and data analysts who work with survey data.

Recompile and republish survey microdata :  The Professional Browser enables you to recompile and republish survey microdata from Beyond 20/20 extracts. You could, for example, create a highly customized extract or table from a larger, general-purpose extract.

Export data in SAS and SPSS format : The Professional Browser allows you to export Beyond 20/20 data in either SAS or SPSS format, permitting specialized analysis.

Launch external applications from Cell Information function : The Professional Browser's Cell Information function can be used to launch an external computer process, such as retrieving records from a relational database management system, based on the current cell selection in a Beyond 20/20 document file.

Re-band and Relabel Microdata : Banding is the act of defining ranges of numeric values within a specific numeric source field - for example, the field "age" might have a range from 20 to 60. Using the Professional Browser, you could re-band the age field and publish only statistics about 20- to 30-year olds. Similarly, the Professional Browser lets you change various labels in the data to better represent its content.

Create intermediate worksheets : The Professional Browser's View Worksheet command allows you to create a working copy - a worksheet - of all or part of the current view of your Beyond 20/20 document file. All operations normally available in the table view are available in the worksheet view, including group calculations, data imports, saving data to a table, etc. These operations may be performed even if the original document file is read-only. Changes made to the worksheet are not reflected in the source data.

Create new items derived from existing items : Using the Professional Browser's Computed Groups feature, you can create new items by applying arithmetic operations to existing items. For example, one item could be divided by another and then multiplied by 100, to create a new item that contains percentages.
